Why don't dealers get back to you?!

Biggest waste of time is the enquiry system on all the Claas dealer websites where you it invites you to put in your email, phone number, address, trading name etc,to get photos, spec, better description and price. Never had a response yet

Recently had to decide whether to get a part mended [2 week wait] or buy new from claas at double the price[ 2 day wait] so decided to buy new.
It took nearly 3 weeks to arrive and would not buy Claas again.

I think a lot of dealers just use that type of offering as a tyre kicker filter reckoning if you are really interested in something you will phone them to enquire about it.

Sorry to say Im not sure this right either, as I explained in a earlier post, I telephoned six dealerships and still didn't get the answer I wanted or not wanted!

I would drop the salesperson salary and increase the selling bonus that might help......

I could understand dealerships being so unhelpful if they provided all the required information in their adverts or on the websites.
Providing you with 1 crappy photo, a 12 word description and/or P.O.A means anyone interested has got to call. This in itself would be understandable if they used the call as a sales opportunity but they pretty much never do.

That is ridiculous!
Remember years ago returns auger in combine sheared in two at 4pm, new part in Germany.
New part was fitted before 11am next day!

I asked about a flail mower via that system last year no response so kicked up a stink about it on here. Someone did get back to me eventually but it turned out the machine I. Question wanted more repairs than was worth doing.

so I bought one in GWO off @Dave W instead. Even got the last Choccy biscuit, @Nearly Was there the day before and scoffed the rest apparently ??

Why don’t farmers get back to salesmen? Many must think the world evolves around them.

Quote farmer on new machine, explain it is last one left, can’t get anymore from manufacturer for this season, and that another customer is interested (why do they always think this is a tactic to rush them?). Farmer gets in touch a couple of weeks later and is upset because someone else bought it...

A Farmer is someone who farms and occasionally tries to buy stuff.
A salesman?........

Im on both sides of the fence

I sell and buy

As a seller i get phone calls from genuine buyers and from people that just want to gauge a price so they can go back to the other dealer and quote my price. which is fine i try to give the best price

I will phone back asap or reply via e-mail, but as a rule of thumb i very rarely chase a customer once i have given a price.
Dont want to harass!

I once phoned a nh dealer in Wales / basically begged him to come and value my px, he came over in the end, he had a look and i never heard from him again! not even a courtesy call saying "i dont wanth the px" i would have sold it my self
In this instance i was not going to chase him for a price, every time i see the dealer at the local shows he makes a point of avoiding me!
I was at the time a cash buyer looking to px and spent 40k with no finance

You get some good and some bad i suppose

Know of one main dealership the salesmen survive on commission only.
Keeps them focused I would think.

Ah......there's your problem. Local dealers won't have anything like that in stock. It's either wonky old 3600's or at the other end of the scale something 12 months old with an £80k price tag, and nowt inbetween. Dealers further away ain't interested.......cos you're far away in Wales.

None of those experinces are acceptable!. However to put another ''selling experience'' across. There are bad apples in the buying side too!. I once had a chap email me for a price. He gave me a false name, a false farm name and location. When i eventually managed to track him down. He said he likes to ''keep people on their toes''. He never did buy, dont think he even had the authority. Think he was just bored! Nowt strange as folk....

I find this rather strange. I ordered a part for my Claas Mega combine at 4.30pm and the part arrived the next morning at 10am. I've had Claas combines for many years and I have always been delighted with their spare parts availability. Not so chuffed at some of the prices though!

And the motor trade is even worse

Brother in law was a manager in an o2 shop for a couple several years. Said he fancied a career change and got a junior salesman job at a car dealership. He had no experience in car sales but likes cars. On his first day his manager apologised for giving him the desk near the door but that's where you start, in his first week sold 6 new cars. He's been in the job for nearly 3 years. Still has the same desk sells 230+ cars a year. Chases every person getting new sales, and on the phone looking at customers whos deals are coming to an end. He notices that middle aged salesmen sell enough cars to reach targets and service their lifestyle and not much more. They tend to ignore customers until they are asked for or show more interest than just browsing.

One good call back request was off Tama, I filled in the online for requesting Information on twine for a conventional baler, and had a pretty quick answer back.. Great Service Tama.

I second that, I needed some unusual grade of twine they make, but don't sell much of in the UK, the reps were excellent at returning my voicemail messages, and keeping me in the loop, and I had my pallet of twine within the time they specified.

Cordex on the other hand were useless, they couldn't even tell me if they had any of the twine I needed in stock, or if/when any more would be arriving in the country.

Something smells there..... litrally every part we’ve ever had off claas if they don’t have it in stock they’ll find it in the country and go get it in a van or we’ve gone for it in our van... if it ain’t in the country and before 3pm they’ll have it in your yard before lunch the next day! ... have known people order parts after 3pm and claas workers drive from Germany in a rented transit van with the part over night before
