can't "like" thatWent out to check a cow , and emptied the rain guage at 1am - 26.5 mm - there was only about 4mm in it on Thursday morning which I left in it as it was raining at the time.
We've now had 47.5 mm in first 7 days of September to add to the 402.5 in total for June/July/Aug .
That's 450 mm in 99 days , or almost 18 inches in 14 weeks and a day.
Dec/Jan/Feb total was 305.5 mm - 97 mm ,or 3.8 inches less than the summer. !!
Spoke to a float driver tonight , who said he was on a beef farm at Strathaven , Lanarkshire this week where they have no silage made at all this year.
I'm beginning to feel that I am going to be drowned out , of a farm on top of a hill.
Ooooooo careful We've been more subtle that that! Consistently said 'highER pressure at the end of next week or next weekend, but certainly not (at this stage) 'high pressure' over the top of us.
Also, we have been very cautious in the past 8-weeks when others have gone with 'high pressure and fine conditions', that's certainly not what we were predicting!
It aint been that bad.
I will re phrase then, it aint been that bad here.Yes it has rain on about 22 days of August
Is that the same as he none existent Indian summer last bank holiday week?
Apparently an Indian summer can only be called so after the first frost. So I heard the other day....
I'm very sorry to hear of your plight. The amount of rain you've had must be horrendous. Hope it dries up soon. Now at 64.5 mm for first 8 days of September , and BBC forecaster Louise says it's to be windy and wet , next week. This is unbearable.

Only a quarter of our 1st cut. Cows have been in since mid July. Just sold 90 cows. You have had an awful 'summer' I saw a post on twitter from a guy on the west cost that had over 520mm for june, july and august. Have you managed to get silage made or graze cows this summer @Cowmangav
