Yes! Independence for south Scotland! I’ve been saying it for years. Leave the central belt face painters to their utopia.I can see why those living near the border dont want independence
The solution could be to move the border either to soutra hill or hadrians wall?
Lime kilns the riflemen the black lion the white lion are the nearest ones to here all within a mile or so of the borderwhich pubs are those then? Will have to nip in for a cheap pint!
Independence for everyone north of a line from the Tay to Oban.
More details in that one post than in the whole of big Eck’s 2014 book of fairytale promises.Montrose to Helensburgh, surely? We can find a Stewart king and adopt the groat as currency.
The joys of using NI bank notes on the mainland. You’d be surprised how insignificant an issue can cause a massive insult to some of these pricks. Similar to vegans in many respects, treat their cause like a religion.

Been there, done that...Or bank of Scotland £5 notes in Essex in the 90s
You need to try RBS £100s if you want fun.
I’ve never seen one of those!
can’t remember if it was bank of Scotland or Clydesdale Bank, but one of the £5 notes used to be made out of something akin to bog roll. Used to be scrutinised greatly even north of the border.
Used to like it when Scotland still had one pound notes

The US hillbillies originated in the Borders, either side bearing in mind Northumberland used to reach to the Forth. They were Presbyterians and English high church came up and started topping them. They left to go to Lanarkshire and N. Ireland. Potato famine a lot left. Catholics to New York Presbyterians to Philadelphia. Rolling green hills like the borders and coal mines as in Northumberland and Lanarkshire. As in Bart Simpson Willie the gardener is a raj jock. All the films and songs about Rednecks. The US presbyterians wore a red neckerchief to delineate themselves. If you look closely you will see it is Paisley pattern on red. They had a reputation in an argument of shooting first rather than waste words. There is your history lesson for the day. What do you mean by hillbillies? Border Reivers ?
I haven't read through this topic throughly but just the first page or so explains why the UK is breaking up, but most starkly reflects why EU migrant workers and all immigrants to the UK feel uncomfortable, unwanted, unwelcome and why many have gone home to their original countries and will not be persuaded back even if it was made easy for them to do so. Once bitten, twice shy.
Nationalism and racism, which are often linked, are nasty pervasive and regressive notions wherever they occurs. There is hardly a redeeming feature to either and people who harbour either to any degree higher than a pride in their nationality are generally not very nice people, when it boils down to it.
There were more than previously thought when we were in the EU. Now that we are not and so many have been made to feel unwelcome and gone home, we are dreadfully short of all kinds of workers, from fruit picker to lorry drivers to chefs and bar tenders. Odd that you hadn't noticed this. Most people have and also noticed many empty supermarket shelves and short retail business opening hours as a consequence.Seriously ?? This country is so racist that 5.2 million EU nationals have applied to stay ....
Brexit: How many more EU nationals in UK than previously thought?
Five years on from referendum, it turns out there were far more EU nationals in the UK than was thought.www.bbc.co.uk
