Yes you are

Unless you've jobs for those young families they won't be there and if they are there they likely would trek to the local supermarket than use the local store

If you want to see the most vibrant villages in this area go to the ones that service the incomers; better independent shops, restaurants, pubs
Lack of affordable housing is the biggest cause of labour shortages in many areas of the uk, especially the picturesque bits
You allege we will just pisss the tax away anyway, how about some more condescension?

Plenty more available if you want it. You've clearly got a well tuned radar on both shoulders to attract more . Which God will the tax go to and what will it be used for?

It's not lack of affordable housing that's causing labour shortages.

If I give away all my assets (such as they are) like I suggested , can I come live in your socialist idyll in 10 year's time. Only thing is I'd need a reliable lift to get me up my tower block . Plus point is it would be a wonderful view over the Solway Firth

So, questions I have , 1 . affordable housing , what’s affordable and what’s not ? Number please .
2 . If buying selling is restricted , who can buy who can’t ? What’s the parameters?

Poor minimum wage ? Really
Just because you ( and Jeremy Clarkson seemingly) , as a business owner, earn less than min wage doesn't mean everyone should be on that rate. At the heart of it all, we need to get away from being a service economy which milks low skiled workers. To a high wage, high skill industrial, economy. Just my opinion though.

I don’t even know what min wage is ? 8-9 hour ?
I was working for a farmer last week on £25 hour doing a job he couldn’t get anyone else to do , why do they not want to work ? What is wrong with people get off their fat arse their is money to be made out their .

another problem I notice with houses being built in the countryside (round here anyway), is that usually they are all 3 or 4 bedroom detached all with ensuite, so £350 000 or so, and totally out of the reach of anyone local (except Doctors etc), I think there need to be affordable housing mixed in with all developments, rather than 2 stuck at the end of a development.

Cos they don't like doing the jobs no one else will?
What dole do they get if they're not working?

And all the plots are sold with plans for the same, land is too dear so they are maximising the value of the plot.

It’s not so much the dole it will
Be very little , it’s the extras that are not massiy
Published almost kept secret , rents paid tax paid , dog paid for kids paid for mobility car paid for the list is long , my mates wife used to deal
With them if they fill the right forms in they can extract without to much hassle 52k a year iirc in Scotland .
