Wide wheels on tanker

Looking at a NC tanker, currently tanker is on bn3 tyres which are damaging the soil quite at bit, they have a tyre 1050 wide tyre ( not had a price yet) , have rolled big wheeled hispec before, and not keen on doing it again, but wonder if these very wide tyres would be safer. Is anyone got these tyres?

No doubt the wider tyres will carry better but can’t see that they will help stability that much. Tankers are made close to the legal limit width so the outside of tyre width won’t be that different depending on tyres.

You can get stepped axles which make a big difference to stability.

Currently tanker is on 3 meter axles, but tanker doesn't need to go on road, will ask about stepped axle though.

I got this at the start of the year. Already have a stepped axle 2500 gallon on 900 tyres and it’s solid as a rock but the only thing I hate with big single axle tankers is the bouncing up and down when on the road. The tanker pictured is a dream to tow and actually easier to get in gateways with steering axle, it’s on 710 tyres. I believe it’s harder on land than the single axle with 900’s. Stepped axle is what your looking by the sounds of it.

Are you happy with the NC tanker overall?, have had Hispec up until now.

A bearing went on the 4 wheel drive shaft on the big tractor that day so the other one stood in......105hp on the dyno, the extra 5 makes the difference 😂

Redrock 2250 on 800 tyres and stepped axle is nice and stable, we have some fair slopes here.
