Why did you nearly put it in the bin? m nosey and interested. You can if change mind reject the agreement in a few months when offer comes through.
I have a Scheduled monument, hence could not consider Wildlife offers until this year and had lots of features to map on the FER, so the application for options was ok, it was all the ancillary rubbish that accompanies it. Didn't help the DEFRA email inbox refused to accept large attachments to send the required docs to. It's states in the guidance they could accept upto 32MB but ended up sending them in in 1-2MB chunks as anything bigger bounced back.
All the CC emails to myself were received without problem to both Gmail and a Live mail. Surely a government department should have a commercial grade email account far superior to the free Gmail accounts and the like.

Ah, I understand. Compressed files for the maps?

I'm 3 years into a mid tier. If it was cheaper to get out, I would have paid them back and put the whole farm into ab15, sat back, pipe and slippers.

£140 acre net of seed, establishment and other costs plus BPS. Indeed if it were not for farmers ongoing enthusiasm and undoubted optimism that this year Rodney the market will reward us for growing crops most owner occupiers and AHA tenants would be the same!!

I must admit when the available area came up on the screen I was tempted to put the whole lot in, but resisted in the end. Putting some 5 year in and some 2 year, about 25% of whole farm including wild bird area. Using contractors for arable from this Autumn so ‘fixed costs’ will reduce accordingly.

Got my Mid-Tier in at 10 to midnight.

Realised we had no field parcel number for the old buildings that we were applying for the maintenance option on so had to hastily do a new map an RLE1 as well - good thing we can submit RLE1s digitally now! Found it very frustrating that a lot of the good work we have done under HLS doesn't fit an option, least ways not one that reimburses for the costs involved.

They might chuck it out anyway. We have an SSSI so should include that land in it but can't, because the County Council will start building a new road through those fields next year!

Keep looking at schemes, but since finishing a good HLS about 5 yrs ago, have turned down two mid tier offers.
Is it really worth the hassle and potential late payment ,with inspections holding Up bps, when we can get just as good income from growing maize etc , wall to wall.

Totally agree with you surely people can make more profit renting ground for silage, Maize etc. I have applied for capital items only on catchment sensitive farming as yard is 50 yards from river. Did same on last round

Got the SSSI complication too.. its not in anyway relevant to the application, its a geological feature on the boundry that sits in parcels that are woodland and scrub.. not farmed and not eligable for any of the options. We are supposed to submit something from Natural England to state that the SSSI is being managed appropriately are we not? Natural England have not responded to either my emails or voice mails from 3 weeks ago

It slightly bugs me that they won't pay out for anything done if you cancel. We cancelled mid way through and didn't get anything. I did try and argue, but in the end it's a kangaroo court. Quite a bit due for a hardcore track. Not hard to prove I delivered that. It was worth cancelling in the end though.

C'mon. You know it is a five year contract when entering. ANyway I suspect Teslacoils reason was maybe different to yours. Mr coils has realised what a good number AB15 is and thus wishes he had entered all his land into the new gravy train. Did you read Max Hastings article in the Times last Friday. No link afraid,
