Wildlife Snaps

Do you walk with a heavy foot if you walk down a stream you won’t see anything if you sneak along like when I’m trout fishing I see them reckon they feel you coming in the ground
Yep, their 'lateral line' is the ends of short bones that transmit any vibration straight to the skeleton of the fish, quite literally a swimming ear. Compare the frame of a fish to a snake and you see they're really quite similar.

Aye I know fish do I meant the snakes see adders and grass snakes when I’m fishing as I’m sneaking to not scare the fish where as if I’m walking normal never see them

I love snakes there especially cool looking when they swim might have a different opinion if they where deadly ones here
My wife has a weird snake phobia, considering the closest snakes are on the TV.
Also, grubs, worms, maggots and even bits of rope - hence why I'm glad we have none, she'd be unlikely to do anything outdoors .

Personally, I'd have snakes as pets if I could

Very impressive. Just how good is that grassland? If there were no predators would it be maintenance plus for a typical UK suckler cow?
It’s not brilliant stuff sort of moorland grass but everything has evolved to deal with it Zebras always look fat plus there is a real mix of herbivors from the smallest antelope up to hippoes etc all grazing at different levels. Without predators a suckler herd would do fine especially as you wouldn’t need to feed them in winter.

When can you arrange the predator proof perimeter fence and I'll move the Galloways over. Do you think there'd be stripeism with the zebras ?

I actually don’t think there is a lot of tb here. My wife is a vet and it wasn’t something she bothered with. There are far more problems with foot and mouth, anthrax, lumpy skin etc and all the tick borne diseases.

Predator proof fence? You will need plenty of herdsmen to stop the Maasai stealing them. Lions are no problem in comparison.

To prove he wasn’t chicken.

Is turkey soup good for you?
Not if you’re the turkey

Why did the person quit smoking cold turkey?
Because the feathers made him cough.

Why did the turkey bolt down its food?
Because it was a gobbler.

What do turkeys like to eat on Thanksgiving?
Nothing, they’re already stuffed.
