Quite so, snarling bee.

Fact is, as in 1975 and in 1989, crops are so poor that the only way to show the circling banksters that another big loss has not been made here will be to trade in a combine or two asap after harvest.

The one I always drive, for example, might easily fetch £85k as a trade-in, but currently stands in the books at about £145.

Shall be very sorry to say goodbye, but needs must.

:D :D :D

I'm going to put the fert spinner on this afternoon and get some N on the Maize, hoping for tonight's rain to be a decent amount. If it is a decent amount, the maize and barley/vetch wholecrop will be terrific crops even with a dry June, as right now they look great for the time of year, but they are quite dry and the rain will be most welcome.

Pastures are going a little brown underneath, but not quite at the peak of 2018's drought, which here was pretty much the best summer I can ever remember. It rained just in time that year too. Didn't have to go far to see much more severely browning grass crops though, and a family member is a firefighter and spent half the summer putting out the fire on Winter Hill.

Thank goodness June's not going to be yet another boring record here, like February and May.

Few spots we had here this am have already exceeded 1975, with 27 days still to go.

Wet night?? 7.5mm and cold, better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
Forecast to stay cool with showers so crops will fill nicely if it stays like this.
Yield is number of ears/m2 X number of seeds/ ear X TGW of grain.
The first is relatively easy unless you have the extreme heat and dry you had in the south but the art is in the second one. The third is partly a mix of the first two but long cool days with some moisture is the icing on the cake for TGW.
