Will LAMMA 2021 happen

I'm not holding much hope for LAMMA now, think it is inevitable it will be cancelled. CropTec the latest to offer a Virtual event instead.
What are peoples views on Virtual Events? As an Exhibitor I am not a fan and as a Punter although there may be some useful info on their I think very few people look at it.
Heres hoping Cereals 21 goes ahead NOT as a Virtual Event.

Id hate to be the person signing off on the event.
Up here we have the spring show late February.
And there is absolutely zero chance of enforcement of social distancing if it is held in the usual set up.
Too many folk, the stopping for a blether. Limiting numbers on each stand, hospitality is near impossible.
You would at least need to separate access and entry points on each stand and have person on each stand enforcing.
Before then there is the car parking and people going to show ground

I think all shows going forward many will not happen as things that stop for one or two years never get going again as people find other ways of doing business.
We will have to get used to this as the new normal and i think any thing were there are large crowds it will take a lot of getting back.
All shows over the last few years have been under pressure.

You could well be right, some may fold, I would think the bugger shows to be most vulnerable with their high costs.
That might be to the benefit of the smaller shows who rely on volunteers much mire though.

Oops, spelling mistake, oh what the heck , I’ll leave it in, it made me chuckle.😂

virtual events could work well if done properly but so far no one is doing it properly !

Exhibitors want / need / pay for traffic so surely the first aim of any virtual event is to put it where the traffic already is ?

TFF has circa 30k visitors every day, more than attend cereals when its on so where do you think would be a good place yo have a virtual event ? !!

instead they like ti build their own unfamiliar websites that don’t google or give any reason for anyone to vist them teally

if things continue as they are this is a problem desperately in need of a good solution !

Of course TFF gets more visitors than cereals. The only reason some of us livestock boys go is for the free beer and hog roasts, heck it’s probably the main reason some of the arable boys go too.😂😂🍺

You are right that TFF is in a good place to potentially take advantage of an opportunity to be involved in a virtual event though, I’d be surprised if you haven’t already investigated the possibilities

Do you have any verifiable facts and figures to back that statement up ?
This video is very helpful in presenting the statistics in an accessible way. It does last about 40 minutes, but it's a big topic.

There's also a whole raft of statistics as to who was susceptible to covid, current mortality rates, hospitalization rates etc available on the Office for National Statistcs website. Also including the appalling damage that's been inflicted on the economy.

I'm sure those with vulnerable familiy members will appreciate your sentiment

In which case take precautions to shield those family members. It is not a reason to destroy the livelihoods of everyone in the events industry, (and lay waste to the economy at large).

As you would with regular flu and quite a variety of illnesses. A country cannot function if it tries to eliminate all risk from the lives of its citizens.
regular flu ,doesn't leave you unable to do a lot of of things you could do before getting it , country was fxxcked before the virus , think things will soon change , not for the good no money , people not liking how they have to live , every thing will need to be nailed down , just look round you , machetes and guns walking about
