Walked-across a field that has legume grass fallow as rape reaplacement, planted but severe slug damage.
If inspected would that effect payment?

Where does it say that ?

In the bit below the price you get paid, and in much smaller letters? :banghead:
Or a passage added after you'd signed up - not unknown.

But, but, you're doing your bit for 'wildlife' aren't you? 40 different variety of slugs, and you're encouraging all of them. Which may encoiurage rare birdies, or even more rare hedgehogs. What's not to like?

(That was all iron-y, btw.)

If you had put rape in. Would you have treated with a application of slug pellets?
It has had slug pellets.
Fortunately it’s not my crops, I am semi retired but look out on and walk along the edge of the fields every day taking our Border Terrier for his walk. Just can’t help being an interested old codger;)
That said my wife is farm director for a farm that has replaced rape with grass/legume fallow and is getting most anxious about slugs causing havoc with theirs as she DOES have a CEO to answer to who doesn’t know the first thing about farming, I expect there are a few other TFF members in the same predicament :banghead:

Great photo with your terrier. Lovely dogs. I’m sure your agree with my point. If you’re taking money from SFI you have to nurture it like a cash crop. And do the best by it.

Agreed.
That said each farmers attitude are sometimes very different, depending on one’s mindset.
That’s one great thing about farming we can all do what “we as individuals THINK is correct” whether it is or not some members will chew the fat for ever and a day;)

From what I heard the other day this keeping the seed labels and photos of establishment won’t cut it going forward. Think they willl expect to see what is required.
