Any tank-spotters able to tell us if the Russian ones are new or old models? TIA

I have not yet seen any footage of any Russian tanks that are anything like top of the line or modern.

The T90 is fairly modern but it is not the latest tank the Russians have. I have not seen any T90s on film in Ukraine yet. The give away is the IR jamming equipment on each side of the front of the turret and the additional armour on the turret- I presume these are ERA segments that are additional to the hull. It also seems to have a lot more optical equipment than older designs.

I fear that this Russian invasion could go out of control very quickly, if the yanks get frustrated and press the “N bomb” button aimed at the Kremlin. I think global warming will be the least of mankind’s concerns!!!!
I just hope that what I have written above, turns out to be a load of rubbish, for which I will be eternally grateful.

I think it is a load of rubbish and sincerely hope you turn out to be wrong.

The pressure coming from the west has suddenly ratcheted up. Even the Chelsea bloke has got the wind up and now Germany has sent anti tank and anti aircraft missiles, everyone else will. Those tanks and planes are no longer untouchable, which they first appeared to be. The Ukraines look emboldened and Putin is suddenly looking vulnerable in the face of all the above and protests in Russia which he is struggling to control.

In the face of that, it's Putin in the bunker with his finger on the nucular button that could be a worry.

Social media is turning out to be a terrible thing, is Zelensky good or bad who knows, it's a bit like the UK electing Michael Mcintyre or Jim Davidson or even Bozo Johnson, would they make good presidents maybe, would the likes of Putin XI, Kim, Hitler or the EU take them seriously as a defender of a country they seriously have their eyes on in any negotiations or ignore them, what do you think?
Are you forgetting Hitler was a deadbeat artist and Stalin was a criminal before their rise to power.

Why on earth would the yanks get frustrated. Why and what would cause frustration. Surely you mean the Putin regime gets frustrated. But even then one assumes some folk within the hierarchy will say no to using a weapon with nuclear capability. More interesting to watch how the Putin regime in next few hours and days decides to capture Kiev if the Ukrainians put up resistance. In Grozny the Russians flattened the place. Maybe less easy to do in Kiev with the worlds media embedded. I am very impressed and thankful the BBC have brave staff prepared to be in Kiev. The truth will out. Unless you do not believe the BBC. But that no doubt will be another story. Hey ho.

A man has pleaded guilty at Newtownards Magistrates’ Court to waste offences relating to a bonfire next to the electrical sub-station on the Circular Road in Newtownards, Co. Down.

Gareth Gill (51) of Abbot’s Walk, Newtownards pleaded guilty to two charges under the Waste and Contaminated Land (Northern Ireland) Order 1997, for which he was fined £150 each and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy

On June 25, 2018, PSNI officers went to Gill’s yard, where they found a large amount of waste consisting of scrap wood, pallets, carpet and underlay.

Discussion with Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) officers confirmed the site...
