Plough steel, or glyphosate, diesel, spares for all these fancy German tractors? They squealing about glyphosate now.
If Vlad gets really started we could be back to horse and carts in a month.
I just hope the “moral” victory is enough to make up for it.
Try sleeping under a blanket on your back lawn eating grass if you want some idea of what it will be for some poor bar stewards to achieve this moral victory. Then hospitals get hit, schools get hit on both sides. What an effin catastrophe.
If they want to roll into town with tanks, let them. We will sort them out later.😉
People forget very fast what the real cost of war is. It’s never the governments that started it getting shot and going without it’s the common man loosing his life or family. no winners from a war. We’ve been lucky to have had peace in the most part for over 70 years, and yes I know their has been numerous times countries have fought but world war has effected most likely none of us.

so the consensus is you lot are as confused as I am as to what Putin will or will not do..... :banghead: does seem a lot of willy waving going on  What does concerns me, and I think is concerning some journalists, is how both British and American government media briefings are putting out too many statements which they seem unwilling or unable to support with any evidence, indeed they even get upset when challenged to do so. I don't believe a word that comes out of Putin but its a sad situation when I feel I also have to question everything our governments puts out too. Lets consider this one thing, Putin has been in power and playing this game for far longer than any of the other leaders involved, he is an experienced chess grand master playing against the latest intake of students. This plays out one of two ways now, Putin strikes hard and fast or he drags this on as long as possible, his gas sales are soring...

So, he invades the Ukraine, then what ?

He'd then be bordering with Hungary, Poland and Romania, all EU members ?

Start a humanitarian crises for the EU, as everyone flee's ?

Destabilises himself in Russia ?

My guess is a few skirmishes and it drags along forever and a day.

Putin isn't going away though is he. And likely to continue annexing if not stopped or stood up to. As will Xi at some point now he has tested the water with Hong Kong and the world effectively turned the other cheek.
It's just a chess game to them, with death & destruction for others as the outcome.
Yes, he will invade 🤔

The difference is, China are now the World leaders, even though the Yanks (or us) will ever agree.

No they aren’t. They’re very powerful for sure but they don’t have many friends and that’s what you need to be influential. Economically they rely on exports rather than having a large home market which makes them vulnerable. Once we stop buying what they’re selling they will have problems at home which is a bit like where we are with Russia. Sign a new ten year deal for gas with Russia and the problem is solved. Keep buying Chinese steel and they’ll be your bestest pal.

I agree but that's giving in to bullies and they will keep making trouble to keep gaining economical power until the day comes when china are well and truly in charge there showing there true colours now the old communist threat is back

I'm not so sure about that. Their 'Belt and Road' initiative has effectively bought the support of massive amounts of the third world, and even some of the first world. Argentina for example is cosying up to China, hoping to get cheap loans. Even NZ is making favourable comments about China these days.
Thats also why the WHO is in the pocket of China over Covid - they effectively bribed enough countries to back their preferred candidate. Which is why an Ethiopian politician suspected of genocide is now head of the WHO.
