Will they get the job done

One Sunday last harvest, the owner of the wheat field we were combining ,came for a ride on the combine. Unbeknown to me he is an MEP,and a hard headed industrialist. He soon said in conversation what a mess(he did say it in rather stronger that!!!) the Brexit issue is and that the sooner we get out of Brexit with NO DEAL the better. His reasoning being that the uk economy is about the biggest in Europe and that once we are out EU Ministers will be eager to do business on our terms.
Unless I misunderstood him,the EU do not want us to leave as they need us to bail out the other EU countries that are nearly bankrupt.
If Corbyn had got in power the UK may have been bankrupt in a very short time.
If you take me to task on any of the above I will not answer,as I am only saying what I was told.
Your man is 100% correct.

Look, I'm well aware that the EU is not all gravy but surely an intelligent man like yourself doesn't believe everything he reads on the side of a bus? Club membership has a cost.
It dose , but I don’t want to be a member of the club along with the majority of people in the uk as proven in a referendum and a general election it’s not wanted, it’s only a short journey away for them that do .

I suspect Prof Curtice is correct and there would be a narrow remain majority if we had another referendum. But we've had two votes in favour of leave now and with the system we have BoJo has a clear mandate to take us out. No complaints about that from this quarter.

EU now has a big problem, its the trade agreement, while the UK was tearing it's self to pieces, and parliament was paralysed, they were in the driving seat, and it suited them to promote this, to show how hard it was to leave the EU, to any country that was 'dithering'. That has changed, this election, universally thought to produce another hung parliament, which would have left the UK staying in the EU for another couple of years, paying in to the coffers, while we argued amongst our selves. This did not happen, Brexit was 1 of 2 platforms, on which the election was fought, and the result shocked everyone in the elite cabal of Europeans, who think they represent the electorate throughout the EU. And now expect to hear all sorts of fudge over the result, proportional representation, etc.
For us, it means Boris has a strong hand, for trade discussions, not what the EU elite either expected, or wanted. Many countries in the EU, are struggling, in, or nearing recession, the last thing these countries need, is losing a wealthy trading partner, and the oft mentioned trade balance, only comes into the equation now, because we should have had a hung parliament, and more years of internal strife.
So, this leaves the commission with a huge problem, it can play hard, and hammer us on a deal, to show the 'rest' what will happen if you leave, and by doing so, cause huge economical damage to other members, this, I think, is the aim, but it has to be approved by member states, which will be doubtful, to say the least ! So, I think, a decent deal will happen, and, perhaps, a movement towards a more trading bloc, in Europe, rather than the 'superstate' dreamed of by the commission, and this will be reflected in voting trends through the EU.

All the polls and the exit poll this election have been spot on! The exit poll 2017 was correct as well.
What about those posting on here a week before that the Tory lead over Labour had shrunk to 8%. Most polls were predicting around a 68 seat Tory majority. Of course exit polls are more likely to be accurate but even many who were actually recording the information were quite taken aback by the impending swing.
