Cold due next week or so I am led to believe, wheat has plenty of disease here and is growing like buggery in these mild conditions, slugs hard at it too. Will be going I suspect, my agron says he's had no end of calls re various diseases in crops and said some were keen to get out and spray only it's too wet here. A lot left of winter yet and it usually balances out.

I thought it was just me! I have seen a lot of yellow rust in KWS Lili compared to other varieties with lower ratings. Has it broken down already or will we see an improvement later on?
I haven't seen YR like that since autumn 2011 in Solstice.
Relay (9) and Skyfall (6) on the same farm are all clean and not seen any elsewhere so a bit worrying for a 7 ( I think ) rated variety, must check the 4 rated Gallant tomorrow !!
*edit* checked the Gallant today and there's no YR, looks a bit poor for Lilli.
I'm sure some cold weather next week will sort it, if not a cheap sniff of Teb would suffice if it can't wait till T0.

Unless the weather changes drastically will be doing T0 ,getting on top of disease early is the best way forward .But I think we will have to be more ruthless than ever to get the best fungicide prices

I get nodorum and eyespot and that's it....I haven't had great years yet...but travelling at the right time is always an issue...I'm growing different variety next time...alot longer season wheat...I think this will solve some issues for me...

Do you have a 4wd light weight sprayer on floatation wheels? If not get one!

From the reports I have seen T0 rarely gives much of a return, and if we do get the cold Feb then that will clean the crop better than any chem

Have a look at your TAG results. In 2015 the T0 gave a higher return than the T3. Usually it's the other way around.

We don't have them over here...it's all big stuff....I'm saving for a small FWA tractor and a 2000 litre 24 metre tag along...it's always the same problem...you need a good crop to pay for it and can't go a good crop because dont have it...that's why there's not many young people starting in Ag over here from scratch...only ones born into it...

It doesn't make a massive difference what the temperature does. Over here in the West there will be rampant septoria by late March regardless.

What's the best T0 or T1 for septoria nodorum?...I can get certain chemical here but not much on years of experience and real life observations...I will also be targeting eyespot...

It will be applied pre the wet...given we don't have an idle period it would be like the start of a very wet spring for you guys....

Interesting to here varities that are doing better with disease...

Cheers, Ant...
