Willowherb?

I seem to have had a very successful year with willowherb and can see a lot of new seedlings growing on a wheat stubble, adjacent to a block of summer fallow land (now cultivated up) where it set seed, and blew...!

The stubble in question is going into a DD Spring bumblebird mix next, but I am wondering whether to spray the stuff out now it is still small, or will a Frost kill it? No herbicide option in the BB mix! If I spray, I will probably broadcast on some green cover instead.

Frost won’t kill it. Needs a decent rate of glyphosate, but is a bit easier when small but still wouldn’t go less the 2.5l/Ha+AS or Validate.

Awful stuff , get it whilst it’s small. Exterminate.
Done this morning, possibly a week or so late, so cranked up the dose!

I pulled up a mature plant a couple of weeks ago, and was amazed at the root structure.

I have a "crop" of BB mix that I hoped might self-set for next year, but I can see the discs rolling come March! See what levels of Willow herb overwinter as seedlings! There is a lot of ground cover, which might help, but the stuff is a survivor, as can be seen by many a building site or railway cutting.

Every single one will survive the winter without a doubt! (Unless it is help to slip from this mortal coil!)
