Pressing buttons and the keys moving is because 'Num Lock' is off on your keyboard.

Not sure why your text isn't appearing, is the cursor moving when you type or does it stay still?

If your using the number pad keys and they're not working the try pressing the 'Num Lock' key. The number keys should then work instead of moving the cursor around.
