Winning a machinery raffle

Yes but have you ever driven one?. The old K700 model weighs about 17 tons and has just enough power to drag itself along. Was a great clumsy awkward thing. Saw plenty in Ukraine pulling chain harrows that could have been handled by a MF 135. My agronomist often commented that the Russian kit was designed to create compaction and destroy soil moisture.
I've never driven one, just seen them on youtube. They do some wild things with them over there. One of the better videos starts with a clip of a Kirovets snout and about half the cab sticking out of a river, the rest is underwater. I was hoping that maybe there might be an update from the chap after he used it for a while to get some kind of idea whether it might be any good or not (remember Ladas).

It seemed to drag that plow up the hill quite smartly, I didn't see any wisps of black smoke.

A good few years ago Coca Cola used to sponsor the Football League, and as a promotion they were offering a weekly draw for free tickets for every FL game every Saturday. I think it was 5 pairs of ticket per game. You just needed a certain number of codes from Coke bottles to enter, and there was nothing stopping you having multiple entries. I was drinking industrial amounts of Diet Coke at the time, so had empty bottles by the sackful. I also worked out that while the Championship games were likely to be popular, the chances many people wanted to see Swindon Town play whoever else was in Div 1 was pretty slim. So I'd enter a few codes into the online draw each week, and every home game I'd get an email saying 'You've won a pair of tickets!'. And thus myself and a mate watched Swindon Town play for most of a season for free (you wouldn't want to pay to watch them for sure), until the promotion got cancelled.

Also, as a teetotaller, if I buy a raffle or draw ticket at some event, you can guarantee I'll win a bottle of wine.

The Scottish Farmer magazine was 100 years old in 1993 and ran a competition in conjunction with Massey to win a MF 390, my dad won it and got presented the keys to it from the Queen at the Highland Show. Haven’t had any luck winning since but we still have the 390 with nearly 10000 hours on it and use it daily. So it does sometimes happen

I once won enough seed dressing to dress 2 tons of cereal seed ( How exciting) from Crops magazine.
I well remember years ago FW ran a competition to win a Massey 1200 + a Howard Rotadigger to put behind it. Apparently the guy who won was a contractor who already had about half a dozen 1200s anyway. Oh what a surprise.
A bit OT but when interest rates were far better than they are now l asked my accountant if Premium Bonds were worth having. "Funny you should say that" she replied " A few months ago one of my clients won £10,000 and thought ' Well that's not gonna happen again is it?' Well blow me down the following month he won another £5000!"

Seen an article in today farmers machinery journal' said farmer won use of tractor for 3 months' tractor is case active 8
Out of interest any on

here ever won tractor outright in competition or any other kit?
Our neighbor won a Valmet in 1998 for 3 months. Can't remember the model, 80 ish horsepower. He liked it so much that he bought it after the three months. He did 12000h with it and sold it on. It was a horrible machine, our 365 and 390 Masseys were more ergonomic and nicer to drive, although they were from the 80's.

I was one of five winners of Land Rover Freelanders when they first came out.
The competition was run by Case IH to help sell the old 4200 series tractors after the CX range came in. The presentation was at the Royal Show. I had the car about 10 years.

665?

I’d have a Valmet over a Massey any day,yes not as ergonomic but an extremely well made tractor for its size.
