Winter Beans, how to do?

In my neck of the woods we grow most WW, Rye and WOSR as wintercrops. How can Winter Beans stand hard winters? And compare to other wintercrops is Beans more or less sensible to hard winters ?
Also how is weed control in WBeans?

Beyond -10/-12 they are history, with a snow cover they would ok, no snow, forget it.

I’ve seen them go black and fall over I guess it was -8 or 9 plus wind chill but they survived. Look at pgro website and wherry and son. Herbicides include, pdm, kerb, clomazone, crawler, defy and a range of graminicides. Most broad leaf weeds are pre em only as basagran isn’t very good.

Compare to Winter Barley, how can beans take frost? If you dig them deep late i october, can they stand frost better?

Winter barley will stand more frost than beans.
If you drilled them 10/12cm in late October when would they emerge ?
In 2010 I drilled our beans in late October, they were just emerging in early December ( you could just see then in the row) when we were hit by 3 weeks of very low temperatures, -12 down to -20 with some snow cover, the result was total crop loss.

Atlantic Europe yes, Scandinavia doubtful, S. Sweden USDA zone 7 same as Scottish Highlands & Pennines, lowland UK USDA zone 8, but with climate change...
