I’ve planted them up to 7 inches deep when I used to have an old Claydon V drill. Never went much earlier than 5-10th October though. I can see your thinking as this year I drilled with the 750 at about 3.5 inches deep on around 12/10. I sprayed glyphosate on 20/10 as it was mild and I was worried the beans might soon be through. The trouble is all the blackgrass I reckon came around 23rd October just after I’d put the glyphosate on!How deep can you plant beans and they still come up? I’ve got a Claydon drill coming next year and will do beans with that. I’m theory it would be good to plant the beans really deep and of setember.
