Got the chance of an arable farmer to put some stubble turnips kale drilled in once fascila been topped around august time, just after thoughts regarding payment if I should pay by acre or per head I fear it may not come to much with being planted in back end just wanting to put some fertility back in to the ground

Try 60 p starting October to 80 for March
That’s lambs
You supply seed
Shepherding
We Fert it and apply seed and spray if need be
No thanks.

You're already getting all the sheep sh!t free, soil improvement, increased organic matter etc

If I'm supplying seed I'm not paying you anything. Typical arable farmer, wanting it all their own way...

Thst is what the grazier payed
Must know what’s the job is about been doing it for 50 years and has around 35000 lambs down from the borders yearly

It will of worked out for him this year, but very expensive keep normally. I expect he doesn’t have any problems getting keep at those rates though!
He knows what he is doing ,
Have another mate who buys the best Beltec and tex lambs and go on slats and fed pellets
Clips them etc , just get pellets and water , blended to his spec and those lambs fly and weigh like lead , no gut on them , he another sharp operator 6000 through system a yearc
