Morning,

What's the thoughts on cattle housing / B&B prices for the coming winter?

We provide shed, straw, silage and labour - owner provides hard feed.

Will / should the fodder and bedding prices be reflected in the cost per week?

What's the thoughts on general price (per head per day, weekly) in general and what may happen this winter?

We're NE but it'll be interesting to hear what's going on elsewhere too.

Cheers in advance for any input.

I cant see how it can reflect fodder prices atm
So it comes down to how much you want to do it or is it a long term plan , a lot not taking tack sheep this year , we are because the farmer depends on our land as he has for the last 15 years . Price will stay the same

Why are people not taking tack sheep with you is it because they are short on grub so need to out winter stuff or need an early turn out! Many people are still trying to cut down here (Cornwall) so there is going to be a delay but would hope they are still going to take them.

Unless you are desperate for muck i cannot see why you wouldnt want £2 a day p/beast because of the fodder shortage (this includes labour, silage, straw and water for a minimum of 50 cattle). Anybody locally wanting to do this has usually hit hard times and gets treated like there being done a favour by being given some cattle to look after but fodder shortages have turned the tables this year.
