Winter storage.

What's your own tried and tested fluid or mixture for spraying on machinery for winter storage?

I've always used various things, engine oil, mix of gear oil/diesel, for smaller things sometimes use something out of the shop that hasn't been a seller, etc, etc,.

Just wondering what others use, or even what people have tried that didn't work?

Some people merely clean a fresh patch in the nettles

Use up any odds and ends of clean oil,found an oil can that works with an airline in the workshop this year, much nicer than trying to oil the little bale chamber and uses less oil too

It must at least shed water. Not easy to just wash off my hands. Anyway I don't have any spare as I keep all my rusty staples in it
