I'm sure there's room to cut back. Any muck use? I'd not grow it just on 50kg.Wondering if this Costello actually needs any more N at all. It’s had 50 units N plus sulphur.
What will it yield if left alone and save the fertiliser ? View attachment 1028630View attachment 1028633View attachment 1028634
This could well be the year that the pub yardstick is not how many tons/ acre but how big is your margin /acreI don't see the reasoning behind people trying to cut back? Surely with wheat prices at historic highs one should be trying to grow the best crops ever??
Nitrogen is dropping in price so I see even less logic in trying to save N for next year now.
@silverfox your wheat does look good - grow it!!
Pig muck last year before maize, which is obviously still doing some goodI'm sure there's room to cut back. Any muck use? I'd not grow it just on 50kg.
Agree - but if you have bought your inputs at sensible prices then I see no reason for this crop to not be one of the best profit opportunities for a long time. This could well be the year that the pub yardstick is not how many tons/ acre but how big is your margin /acre

Was paying £130 for a 1.06kg pack in December. But they reckoned prices would go up 10%ish in spring so I imagine it will be up on that. Non-servicedAnyone had a price for Broadway star yet??
