Wireless combine reverse camera

I have a hard wire one on the end of the unloading auger which allows good reverse vision as well as viewing the far side of trailers when unloading. It doesn’t take long to cable tie the cables back to the cab. No batteries to faf with compared to wireless. You still have to clean the lens periodically whichever one you go for.

Yes it's OK.
The problem is lack of depth of field/perspective. I put one on the combi- drill to assist when reversing into corners, etc, but it's not as useful as I hoped, because you can't really distinguish whether the counters are 9" above the ground, or in it.
Perhaps the answer is to buy more expensive gear, hecause commercial vehicles must need better than this.

Lack of perception is probably an issue with any single camera, when we are used to normally looking things with two eyes.

I added a couple of plastic canes (salvaged from poulty netting) to act markers on the back of my combine. Get to close when tight manovering and I can clearly see them flexing on the screen before any harm is done.

Got a wireless one on the back of 30ft lorry with cattle box in the way and its good, inside corn drill hopper and also got wireless one on the keenan which is also good.

I wouldn't bother with battery ones but it's usually easy to get to side lights for power.

If wireless than the tractor driver can also have a monitor for combine augar

Don't buy the really cheap ones, pick one with lots of good amazon reviews, around £80-100

Yes they work.
BUT………..
You have to run a power supply to the camera, which preferably only powers the camera up, when you turn the ignition on from the key - which is in the cab.
So as the screen is going to also be in the cab, you might as well put a signal wire it at the same time.
Then you know it will always work!

Wireless ones still need power, they’re ideal on lorries etc as they can be spliced into reversing light to come on when reversing. Does a combine have a reversing bleeper/buzzer anywhere near the back?

At least with a cable it’s plug and play. Can buy loads of cables to suit and as has been said zip ties. I can’t see many advantages with wireless and probably more hassle getting them to work. I don’t have a combine anymore but a number of camera on machines

I'm finding it amusing that some of the horsey types are putting wireless cameras in their Dobbin boxes to monitor their precious ones. They're getting signals from other cameras on their monitors and end up looking at other box interiors not their own 😁

I have a magnetic rechargeable camera for trailer use, the monitor runs from the vehicles 12v supply. Think the range is something like 20m. Battery lasts about 6hours, so probably not suitable for a days work. They are prone to RF interference if you are passing power cables. Cost around £90
