We found thisWe have a sencrop rain gauge and wind station. The app is very user friendly but I find the rain gauge is consistently 15% down on recorded rainfall. For example, we had two spells of rain here last week and the sencrop recorded a total of 6.5mm whilst our old fashioned rain gauge totted up 8mm. Neighbours also report the same thing with their sencrop stations.

That's interesting.Lasted 2 years and had to replace it. They discounted it but not overly impressed.
@Clive . This thread was started 3yrs ago now, so please can you and and any other Sencrop owners please up date us on the reliability/accuracy of the Sencrop weather station. Thanks for any info
Really like ours but I do question the rain measuring at timesall ours are still running well, one was replaced due to vandalism (foc by sencrop i will add when they were told why it was damaged ! which is great customer service)
app is great and its something we all use every day
a great solution imo

But is it accurate??
But is it accurate??
Which is why I said only as remote as the nearest WiFi signal.
Mine has been running since Dec 2012, I replaced the anemometer a year or two back otherwise it is fine. Not sure how you measure “not lasting” but I think I have had my money’s worth.
Mine is still working. 10 years old nearly.I had a Maplin one that was £30 on offer - it lasted about 6 months - very similar to the one you linked
Wifi is ok if you want it for your garden but you not getting much further from a building really
But for the money they are ok for home use I guess, not something you can compare a remote network field station with however
My Davis Vantage console died (again). Replaced it with a basic Vue console and a wifi network link. Still using the original (15 year old) station.
Davis weather link app is really good, can get data from any connected station, and it is free to use.
I must ask my friend in Saskatchewan how he used to monitor his Davis stations that were scattered around an area of Saskatchewan. He collected weather data for predicting probability of certain diseases in Alfalfa being grown for seed.wifi means it needs to be near a network so building - doesn’t work for us on remote farms and even at home my old wifi station needed to be so close to the house to connect it was sheltered for wind and rain

That’s interesting.Sencrop use the Davis rain meter so it should be the same. I think there is an adjustment on the balance of the tipping cups to get them bang on

It is a bugger to do.Do you know how to do that?
I understood you had to open the unit but I can't get it to budge. It looks like you twist the unit but it is hard plastic and you feel it is going to break when you force it.
