Struggling with this. Not been a problem till just recently. Dentist says all you can do is be fastidious with brushing and mouthwash or have it out. It’s an only partially emerged tooth that’s a devil to reach to clean although I’d say I do a fair job. Hospital job to take out but dentist is concerned removal could weaken jaw bone as it’s lying at a bad angle.
Had one rot off years ago and they pulled the roots out in the outpatient dept at hospital. That was a proper rotten tooth but in this case the tooth is OKish but the gum is inflamed.
Not major but a nuisance.

Difflam oral rinse from chemist and ram an electric toothbrush in there for as long as you can bear it.

I have 1 too, in at almost 90degrees to my other teeth. It’s a hospital job but a years wait at least. The hygienist gave a small brush to get in between it and my other tooth as food always gets stuck in it.

I got an infection in my gum, as my bottom right wisdom tooth was coming through when I was 17. Dentist sent me for an x-ray and it was coming through at a bad angle. The bottom left one was coming through even worse, so it was decided to whip them all out, as the top ones are no use without the bottom ones.
Managed to sneak the operation through before I turned 18, so at least I didn't have to pay for the pain.
A morning in hospital, then home to sleep the anaesthetic off. (Remember to sleep with your head on a dark towel!)
Stock up on soup and yogurts (and chocolate that melts on your tongue) and by day 5 your cheeks won't be the size of a football, and you can probably start trying a few solids......mash maybe 😋

Ibuprofen for the inflamation.
Corsodyl, or similar, active ingredient that you need is chlorhexidine digluconate.
If it comes out, get supplies in of max dosage for 3 days of ibuprofen and paracetamol. Work out schedule for one then other and start 4 hours before the extraction.
