Good progress over the last week.

The staircase is now fully built, with the elevator running up through the centre of it.

The Sparkies are up in the clouds, arranging the cables for the conveyor that runs along the top of the silos.

In addition to the staircase there is also a vertical ladder between the two silos. I'll get a good photo of it later.

Here is the vertical ladder, which gives an alternative route to the top and access to the silo hatches (where the high level sensors live).

Probably the last crane of this project phase.

All the conveyors & elevators are now in place, ready to be wired up by the Sparkies.

The outloading spout is also built now, giving just enough space for one to load and one to get past at the same time.

The current price of new space is £120 per tonne, before full tax relief. This is typically paid over 10 years, after which it is owned forever.

Second hand space is valued roughly between £65 and £85 and is not eligible for tax relief.

We finally started filling the first silo yesterday with feed barley

It will fit just over 4,000 tonnes.

Then the second one will be filled with wheat in 2 to 4 weeks.

All the cable ductings are being sealed for now to keep our furry friends out, any cosmetic landscaping will wait till after the third silo is added.
