Woldgrain Expansion 2021

Shuttering all ready for the first pour for the base of the first silo (concreting most of next week, weather permitting).

The shuttering will then be recycled for the second silo.

The bases are are concreted in 3 pouring stages. The first pour sets the shape of the base and holds the auger in the right place, the second pour gives the strength of the base and the final pour will hold the air ducting channels for the aeration system.

5000t in one bin is quite mighty. I really could have done with delivering some wheat in, and backloading some topsoil tbh!

Are these both fed from the existing intakes?

Wow! That is one enormous project! 😃 A lot of work in setting all that up.

It will take a while to build everything that is in the plans.

Concrete pump should be arriving today or tomorrow to start on the first base.

Yes for now, but later in this phase there will be another pit, set of intake bins, dryer, cleaner, colour sorter and control room.

These first two will have their own outloading spout, one will probably be feed barley and the other feed wheat.

The blue lines show where the fan ductings will be concreted into the floor, the blue circle will be the fan itself.

The yellow circles are the three discharge slides into the auger, the gap in the edge of the concrete is where the auger comes through the base and into the conveyor in the trench.

If the lads are on a half day tomorrow I will get some close up photos at ground level, I don't like getting in their way on their site with H&S and Covid.

Awesome! Thank you very much indeed for that explanation. Makes a bit more sense now. Fascinating stuff!
