We buy electric & phones through them the change over was hassle free. Debra & Jenny in the office deal with utility companies and seem to have direct line to managers not to a call center
We buy most of our seed and fert and some agchem as well .
The directors seem to have a tight control on costs .The office is well run we've never had a problem with the administration
I think some buying groups get to big and loose control of costs loosing the benefit to members
Woldmarsh guarantee suppliers payment ,with their buying power are large enough to negotiate discounts

I used them extensively when I worked in Lincs 2005-2010. They are, or were at the time, a very well run group. I bought all seed, fertiliser, sprays, fuel and utilities through Woldmarsh. No excessive layers of management unlike bigger groups and some good buyers. I don't know what their entry requirements are now but it used to be that regional groups of members underwrote any bad debt so they were careful about who they let in.

I recommend talking to them as I was very satisfied with their service.

There will be many TFF members from the area using them. Hopefully bumping this will draw a few into commenting.

Thank you for your praise for two of the team. I'll make sure that they hear this.

We joined I think back in 2004 despite being slightly sceptical. Started just putting fuel through them. Now put pretty much everything through. As said above, they are very down to earth and keep costs under control. At first sight you wonder how they can do it with few staff, but then you start to wonder why other companies arent so lean!

I very much like having one sum leave my account each month for everything I buy - makes my accounting a doddle. Another fringe benefit is when you get cold called by folk wanting to sell you fuel etc they soon go when you say you get it all from Wold.

The only think they are not very good on seems to be mobile phone contracts which have been laughably bad in the past.

They do seem to have got the hang of staff retention, so I have certainly been speaking with the same folk for some items for many years. This implies to me a well-run business, when staff choose to stay for a long time.

I’m a member and farm in North Yorkshire, I have in previous years bought the majority of my fuel through Woldmarsh along with some seed. But in the last 12 months local companies have been better on price so haven’t used Woldmarsh as much in 2017 so not seeing as bigger advantage as previously experienced.
