For easier filling of our biomass chip store decided to marry the woodchip blower to an old potato bulker. It involved putting the drawbar on an extended chassis at the other end of the trailer and replacing the running gear.

We gave an old Bateson silage trailer a new life with some fresh plywood and a few screws. It had been tipped over so frame needed bending and readjusting. Chipper has a tow pin on the back so can drag round the field as one unit. Bit too much weight on the 3 point linkage when full though!

Does that chipper produce g30 spec chip @hinchy ?

It’s been pretty consistent to date (6 months) the odd longer bit that sneaks through but the augers sort that. It’s a stepping stone to a heizohack model, just needed to get on the ladder!

Just got a basic one in the last few weeks for dealing with our garden. the site is surrounded by trees.

so the trailer unloads the wood chip into the blower, and the blower is connected via pto to tractor. Very smart setup.

you've got it, ive also put a valve on the trailer so i can regulate the flow of the chip. we thought turning the trailer round was easier than relocating the discharge mechanism

Yes its an AUER blower just for filling the biomass chip store which is in an awkward spot. we get a contractor in to chip timber for us. Any softwood and all the oversize hardwood gets chipped into a shed, then we load it into this contraption with the telehandler
