Wooden bearings forAgrimec flat roll

We have a Agrimec flat roll which has wooden bearings that need replacing. Apparantly they have gone bust and are quite different to Twose bearings. Any idea where I can get a part? Has anyone made one out of a piece of hardwood ?

Got some made for our old grays roller at local saw mill. The bored out a bit of hard wood for us.

Good idea. I wondered if that might be an option. No grease nipple is the only downside I guess.

I made some for a twose years ago from a block that holds the herras fencing up , drilled hole for grease , not sure wot they made of or if they will wear the shaft but going well still

Any joinery shop will make up hardwood bearings. Just give them the dimensions.

I’ve made them from railway sleeper, just get a hole saw for the drill drill down as far as you can chisel out the centre and go again, only takes two 3x to get through a sleeper.

We have just made some from some hard wearing plastic blocks as a bit of a experiment .

what would be the best wood to make the bearings out of? And after making them, should they be soaked in waste oil for a while before fitting?

Kreuing if my memory serves is the hard wood that is used in lorry floors and would be quite durable. It’s easy enough to drill through a wooden block for a grease track.

Why not just get a plummer block bearing and use that? Think that's what we did on ours many many moons ago

Made some out of a railway sleeper, stuck it in the 4 jaws on the lathe, drilled a hole through with the biggest drill we had, then a sturdy boring bar to finish off.

Am sure they'd pop some over to you, I get my bearings locally but when I have dealt with RS they have been excellent and very speedy

made some out of hardwood blocks
then put them in the old deep fat fryer we use for power harrow grease and left them in all day in hot sump oil.
