Woodland Carbon Code

Is anyone doing anything with the woodland carbon code on a new planting?

Working on a farm woodland scheme for some of the poorer corners/steep bits and to create some windbreaks and wildlife corridors. Initial thoughts are that trying for the carbon sales market at the same time seems logical, assuming there is no conflict of interest between farm woodland grant and woodland carbon code.

Realistically though, by the time any new native broadleaf plantings have achieved their full potential of C sequestration, even a whipper snapper like me is not going to be around, so what are the long term constraints for successors and/or owners of the woodland over, say an 80yr project?

Also I read the term "additionality" cropping up a lot - i.e. needs to be shown that the project was unviable without carbon funding input, but what parameters is that measured against? - if I say I need 8ft deer fencing then the cost of that will make it unviable vs plastic tree guards

Thanks in advance.
