no, but basically they look like themed estate agents. they just take a sales commission like any other agent.

Been around a long time now. Was started by a relatively elderly couple who saw an opportunity to buy up large tracts of woodland very cheap and splitting it up into small parcels to sell to lifestyle buyers at vastly inflated prices.

They will have made a lot of money and I believe that the business has been passed on to others. It seems to be countrywide now.

While some of the woods have been taken over by people who are genuinely interested in them, the majority have no idea what to do with it and often get bored with it quickly.
It accelerates the deterioration in many woodlands and woods that need coppicing or active management are often full of diseased timber now.
They have done nothing for helping conservation or educating the new owners.

As above. Their modus operandi is to buy tiny woodlands; typically 1-10ac, install a nice wooden gate, build a bench and sell it to lifestyle buyers for big money. There’s a few woodlands near here which have been sold by them, usually little farm woods. To be fair, not a bad business model and perfectly legitimate but agree with the above the typical buyer would probably lose interest quickly enough, and not know how to manage the wood properly.
