I was thinking that yesterday. But then I slapped myself and thought “Don’t be stupid, that’s far too simple and logical too happen”Call me hopeful but with oil shooting up in price, wool should track it man made fibres are getting dearer so wool should begin to look like an attractive alternative
One hell of alot of sheep for 160/ac , must take alot of grass keeping
All blade shearing ---on tomorrow as well (if you leave now you'll be in time for breakfast and the first cider of the day)Was it all Blade shearing there ? And do you go as the Panto villain. Booing at all the woolly sheep !!
Think you could be about right with this. Not just my costs as the contractor but also the living costs of the guys working for me, everything is going up!With the rising price of diesel, I can see the cost of shearing up 10-15p/head, I hope the wool board can sell at a decent price or the farmer will be getting even less of his wool cheque.
As you say everything has gone up, not just for you and your staff but say you need to buy some new combs for the season. If you get them from highway shearing or whoever, their cost of living has gone up also and that's without the extra cost of delivery for the combs so the money is going to be have to come from somewhere/someone. And up steps in the humble shepherd to fund it all, god bless him.Think you could be about right with this.
