Wool...what will you do with yours...

Regardless of what you do with your wool all the moaning about price isn't going to make a jot of difference, the fact remains that wool is a great product, but there are so many processes from me shearing It to the consumer wearing it or somebody walking on it. A bit like comparing a pallet load of bricks with the price of buying a house!!

I beg to differ . When Ms Sturgeon gets her way she may set your own wool board up north of the Border

Yes please to a Scottish wool board. Then you can subsidise all of the wool from the Highlands and Islands as well those Mattress Blackie fleeces which sadly are no longer used in Italy. The depots in Scotland already pay very high rates due to the political situation.
That way we will get more money in England and Wales.

Slightly off topic. I've been on a health and safety course last week. There's a big panic about asbestos even though it's been banned for 25 years. Its a marvelous product used it over 3000 different products but due to its tiny size is highly dangerous if inhaled and there is no cure.
I can't help thinking that these micro plastics that are now in the environment from synthetic clothing could be the next health concern never mind environmental concern. It just takes the right scientists to identify a risk and the government to stand up to the corporate businesses.

The petrochemical industries are too rich and have a hold on governments

And, for now still, oil is cheap so plastic is cheap

You did. Post 368.
Have a look at post 368. You wrote that you hadn’t read something - something that they had put in a letter to you.
saying what they may pay some more for 2019 clip when they have sold it? They use the term 2019/20.clip I presumed it will be added to the 2020 clip value
I tell you what I received my final payment for over 3000kg if they pay me any more as top up I will donate it in full to a charity of your choice
Hold me to it!!!

@yellowbelly is working on it as we speak. Luckily enough, he also has the ovine genetics to save us when the revolution comes.👍

A generous gesture and I hope it happens, but charitable giving should be a private matter imho, so I’ll leave the choice to you.

i do hope so, bwmb or not it will only be worth something when there is demand,

at the moment there is not, hence its worth f**k all (this poses a problem for bwmb or any other processor they cant exist on a commodity thats worthless)

as you say i often think as you do and what an amazing product wool is and how dynamic it uses are,

i imagine its a matter of time before demand increases hopefully to dizzying highs :D

lets just hope its sooner rather than later!!!! (y)

How long are you willing to wait? I’ve been waiting for common sense to prevail for a couple of decades now.:(

Somebody mention me :scratchhead:

Funnily enough, our breed can't keep up with the demand for stock from new breeders this year.
Sadly though (but understandably) it's not coming from mainstream farming but from 'lifestyle' customers with low volume, niche outlets for wool.

But fear not, fellow TFFers, the genetics are still available should any of you ever get masochistic tendencies

.............the queue starts over here ⤵

P.S........for what it's worth, our wool goes to the BWMB - heard all the arguments and can see it from both sides but on balance, IMHO, it's still our best option.
After 21 pages of 'heated debate', those who still can't see how it works have one glaring option - go and see @Tim W or @Woolless ;)
