That’s what I was thinking. Are you on the board?
That’s what I was thinking. Are you on the board?
You should be cause you seem to know everything that’s worth knowing about the running of the wool board.
Well don't die in a ditch for them.
As ridiculous as you may find it I’m only saying what she said .
I quote what was said that she wasn’t allowed to buy the wool herself.
That’s what I was thinking.
Well don't die in a ditch for them.
An Employee of the wool board who was part of the conversation with the farmer and the buyer from told me himself thank you . Straight from the horses mouth. Not as you seem to see it!!!Why? Because you quote what someone told you that someone else had told them and it's gospel?
How can we suffer more when we are giving it away now, it provides a tiny part of a sheep farms income as it is.We will all suffer more if there was no BWMB.
I don't want them to disappear, just be Pro active. Marketing board demise doesn't lead to better prices, see milk and potatoesWe will all suffer more if there was no BWMB.
It’s time the wool board pulled its finger out and do a better job and earn there high wages that our wool awards them . We need the wool board but they need to get there act together and look to new innovations and ways to use wool .We will all suffer more if there was no BWMB.
They are auctioneers , it’s their job to prepare wool for auction and auction it , and find bidders , it’s up to someone else to find their market ie buy it at auction and turn it into insulation , the fact it Downey really happen says their ain’t any money in it , if their is money do it !! Or show me and I will do it and go and bid on the wool. You can’t say your local mart should have a butchers shop and hand all the proffit back to the farmer .

@Katarina shouldnt have to, a quick look at the accounts show a lot of people are being paid a lot of salary/bonus / pension to do it on her behalf......except they are not.Well step on up and do it!
perhaps the top brass should be on a commission/bonus scheme. Are they?I’m selling the wool as a farmer , they are the wool board , paid to do a job and paid well at that so what I’m saying like thousands of other farmer are saying, do your job .
If that’s your best response then sometimes not saying anything is better.
No. But if lambs were less than £30 at market I would get them butchered and sell them myself.
Given how bad for the environment synthetic materials are, a low wool price should make it easy to try and encourage greater use of wool.
I think that BWMB should look at how milk processors approach marketing the commodity they actually buy rather than have for free to see what they can sell it for.
So why don't you do that with your wool?
You don't have to give it to the BWMB for them to sell, just like you say you wouldn't give your lambs to the market to sell.
If you're prepared to go to that bother with lamb why not go to that bother with your wool?. Sell the end product yourself...
Was she having to bid through an 'agent' at the BWMB auctions? ... heard something similar myself. I'll ask our local board member when I see him, he's always happy to explain stuff fair play.An Employee of the wool board who was part of the conversation with the farmer and the buyer from told me himself thank you . If wool is merely going to make world commodity price then why do we need these well remunerated professionals ?
By the way I enjoy the annual wool debate as it’s so insignificant to most of our incomes
So why don't you do that with your wool?

yes that’s exactly what I was told .Was she having to bid through an 'agent' at the BWMB auctions? ... heard something similar myself. I'll ask our local board member when I see him, he's always happy to explain stuff fair play.
A farmer produces the wool to a high quality then it goes on the the wool board to market it . I’m happy to swap jobs with management and take there wage and have a go if they take on my job and wage .So it's just a case of bitch and moan they're not doing their job... but suggest that person could get involved and make a difference (if they think it's that easy)
"Oh it's not my job"...?
Only insignificant because of the wool you grow by choice
