Got my BW letter today after sending my clip on Monday.

2020 clip has came to a flat rate of 15pkg across all my wool.
But as above - Texacloth were paying 10pkg for Hogg wool last year. So I'm at least 5pkg better off than if I'd sold it to the Irish

The Irish do not pay better.
Sound like texacloth didn't want your wool, minimum the competition paid around here last year was 20p/kg and if you waited for your money till this year you could get 40p/kg.

Didn't want my wool? I never offered them it 🤷🏻‍♂️

I haven't heard what he was paid this year for his Mule Hoggs. Will try and find out

I sold all my wool to texacloth last year. And if i did pay shearers it would have more than covered the cost of the shearing and left a bit. My neighbour has more sheep than me mostly mules and he said that his wb cheque hardly payed for the diesel to take it to gala. I get what people are saying about the irish buyers having it there own way if no wb but im not giving it away if i can make a bit i wouldnt sell lambs for less in hopes of getting more in the future so im not doing it with my wool.

Apologies, by the way you stated that texaxcloth where offering 10p/kg but you held out for 15p/kg from the WB, sounded like you had enquired and made an informed decision to stick with the WB.
Unless I'm mistaken you'd just heard what someone else got offered for their wool and have used that as the guide price you would have had for your wool and quoted what you did receive from the WB.

WB want about 50p/kg to grade it and store it

Figure of 40pkg was established earlier in this thread... but no doubt it'll be £1/kg in a few more pages 🤣

But that covers; collection/haulage, storage, grading, batching, organising sales/auctions and God knows what else... as well as that 200k salary which grabs so many attentions

20pkg for grading seems very steep

I had went looking for that, but couldn't find it (I wasn't prepared to go through every page and gave up after 5 or 6) thought I had imagined it

As far as I'm aware nobody is is getting those prices - WB or elsewhere
Dont know what i will get this year but the prices i quoted are what i got last year and speaking to alan walsh on the phone today he says he will be paying more this year but will wait and see.
