Worcester boiler

Might be a daft question but is the water pressure OK? My old Worcester used to lock out if it got below 0.5 bar. Topping up to 1 bar nearly always sorted it. Plenty of oil in the tank? Oil getting through to boiler? Open oil pipe joints near boiler and/or the bleed screws either side of the filter to check.

Get your boiler professionally serviced every year and you shouldn't have any problems. I know someone whose oil boiler is never touched until it goes wrong, and then he fiddles with it himself. The flue gas is never checked, as he doesn't own a meter.

Sounds like a typical farmer :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Ah. I didn't see your last post as I was typing mine. Assumed it was oil from previous replies. I wouldn't 'fiddle' with it in that case. Maybe another daft question but have you got gas going to other appliances?
We haven't got anything else on the gas, I did ask if she'd paid the bill :scratchhead:

There's no screen for error codes (n)

Sorry, should have explained better. In your manual there should be a description for the way the light flashes. Long flash short pause, short flash long pause etc.

Have you had a few occasions of having to reset the boiler over a period of time?

If you have, my money would be on your electrode pack having a build up of corrosion on the flame sensor. This corrosion is preventing your boiler sensing a flame and thus locking the boiler out. Easy to fix if you know how (qualified / competent person), and the electrode pack isn't expensive.

If programmer is on etc, it will try to light 3 times iirc before locking out. Once it does lock out as above it will give you a rough idea of what's causing the problems. You shouldn't be taking the casing off unless you're a gas safe registered.
