Working in New Zealand.

It's not all good. My nephew gave up a good job for an adventure. Signed up to work and found that the work was patchy and distant. All travel in his own time and at his expense. Costs of accomodation came out of wage, so he saw virtually nothing. Be careful.

Yep heard a few bad stories alright, there's certainly cowboys out there You're certainly not going to make a lot of money. You need a car- even scrap is fairly expensive- you will pay rent, whether you work or not and there's no standard week or overtime rate.

Its more of an adventure thing really.

Which is why i would consider going somewhere a bit different perhaps? NZ is just UK with mixed up seasons
How about South America or some of the ex Soviet states?
Things might get done in different ways there?
Might challenge a young persons perceptions and promote new ideas a bit more ?

Different language would be a major challenge.

You'd be right there. Found him a bit odd, maybe he just didnt bother to acquaint himself with the hired labour. Fantastic operation all the same.
Yeh. Him and Jackie, his wife, were very good to me, but they didn’t approve of drinking , so there was always going to be trouble down the line🤣🤣

Yes I'd agree with that, I found the US different to the UK but NZ is very similar.
Only really came here because it was October I was getting kicked out of America and didn't want to go back to blighty at the start of winter.
I worked with a guy from the Ukraine and an Estonian, after listening to their stories, not sure I'm brave enough to go there :cautious:

I agree about South America etc although you are way out on your perception that NZ is just the UK with mixed up seasons, it may be for those that seek out their own nationality and do not integrate as @Hilly has mentioned, plenty do this even when they emigrate.

Interesting comment, whilst there may be a few similarities I don't find NZ to be that much like the UK at all. I suppose it depends where you compare it with.

I does depend on the individual, had friends find work for a guy from the UK and he didn't like it, went back home after a couple of weeks, phone calls from his girlfriend didn't help, best advice for that problem from Luther Vandross
