Working ram lambs

I've got 50 odd broken ewes, mainly welsh breeds, that I've decided are fit enough to lamb once more.
I've was going to buy a ram lamb to cover them as it's a small number but 3 breeders have now told me that's too many ewes for a lamb to cover and he should only work 20- 25 ish.
That doesn't sound like many to me, I always thought a decent fit ram lamb should cover 50 odd and a shearling/ aged ram 100 ish, am I wrong or are these tups being bred/ reared to soft?
It's not like they have a hard life, just have 3 or 4 weeks a year to earn their keep!
Got some lambs left if you want. As a man keen after your interests I’d advise throwing two in, not because one won’t do it, just to spread the risk. You’ll have two proven shearlings to pick from next year.

Put three big tups out with the mule ewes...biggest (the texel)now in hospital paddock minus a couple of teeth and with a swollen head. Suspect is the charolais ram who's really on one this year.
The welsh ewes have a Welsh ram and a Welsh ram lamb tup. Lamb is super keen and keeps the ram on his toes. Ram only gets up from his slumber when he spots the lamb lurking around the ewe with his nose under her tail.

On a positive note, at least you’ll have some better lambs out of your mules.👍

Fighting is only an issue if you put too many rams out. If they have plenty of work on then they don’t bother fighting over the one ewe that’s on heat in the field.

Or they start a bit of boy love…😂

(And yes the ram lamb doing the jumping is the one I bought with your breeding…typical welshy..😂😂)
