By counterclockwise I assume you mean setting off to the right as you look at the sheep. If so, that's the correct side for "away" with any dog I've ever worked.
No, my apologies for not being more specific. I was referring to dog looking back at me from the 12 oclock position. I was told that the dog is going wrong way, but for some reason she just wants to go that way and it seems natural to her.
The suggestion to me was to get a Pen with a few sheep in, then run the dog outside each way - whereby if it goes the wrong way, stop her - then drive the dog to coherse it to go the right way round until it follows the normal route.
From foot she 80% goes out to the left, which I thought would correct the looking back to me wrong direction.
I am not sure if this is a normal thing to do - but the pen may be an option?
