Looks like it may be a useful addition to the armoury, depending on cost of course.

This bit may be a bit of a drawback though.......

"spores have to be fed for a period of no shorter than 60 days":confused:
 
An Australian research project that has been around 15 years in the making. I recall it being discussed in a NZ science advisory/funding organisation, Ovita, in its early days.
They have obviously broken down some of the science road blocks then preventing a commercial product being developed, as 3 registered products are now marketed.

The marketing cost will probably have no bearing to the manufacturing cost, as pharmaceuticals are priced to what the market will pay when weighing up the cost of alternatives. Those farmers with triplet anthelmintic resistant worms on their farms may find this the only alternative after finding a breeder with a history of breeding worm resistant sheep. However I have never heard of a cattle breeder breeding for worm resistant cattle.
