Worried about meat suppliers

Tesco PR dept causing trouble......😉😇
It wouldn't surprise me. Not pointing the finger at Tesco but the amount of shitstirring on social media sites makes me think there is a whole new industry out there. Instead of promoting their own products people are badmouthing others.

Can I just add that although it doesn't get much air time there is a lot of strong evidence that supermarkets have played a very big role in the spread of Covid in the UK. I have yet to visit any supermarket that enforces any social distancing rules whatsoever! I am sure I am not alone with that one.
Research has shown that of all socially incurred infections supermarkets are far and away the biggest common denominator. This is true, search for yourselves.

I think you may be right @Robt

Wonder what the agenda was though - all very strange.

In fairness the replies ended up in the mod queue and I had to manually approve them. Marked as member of the public. But just goes to show how worthless the Red Tractor label on food is.

A has been said @Patti the landlady look for the plant ID it is cut in. Not sure why I'm defending Aldi - but a lot of their meat is UK sourced, even if packaged under a made up farm name.

The real answer is of course to go to your local butcher and ask them where the meat is from and then buy it. Then you know.

Apologies to the OP for any confusion.

I don't think you can bame Red Tractor when there's a big Union Flag on the front of the label !

It's a brand, and they all use it. And Aldi are one of the better supermarkets too, at local sourcing.

Perhaps - but I actually trust a major player to not lie (mostly) if they put it in writing - I don't have the same confidence in local buthers, when it's a verbal/ aural response.

I don’t use Aldi for this reason. It may well be cheap but cheap meat is poor in my experience. I’ve tried Aldi numerous times but I’ve never had any decent meat so we just don’t bother now. Fill the freezer up once a year direct off a farm now.
If you have never had decent meat then blame British farmers. All their meat is from UK and their Scottish stores only stock Scotch Farm Assured so I think they support UK farming more than most other supermarkets.

I'd say the Op has an agenda....yet another new poster asking a very direct question as their first post. When i have used Aldi, the meat i have bought was british. It was excellent quality and well priced. If i had bought some tinned hotdog sausages I wouldnt be surprised to find the contents werent british!
It may be cut and packed in the UK , Who knows where it originates from , that goes for all supermarket meat ,

Look on google 90% off beef comes from there before you say any thing google it yourself
You need to put Aldi UK and make sure your link doesn't take you to aldi .com.
I farm in France and Aldi and Lidl here source all French meat except Frozen New Zealand Lamb. All their fresh lamb is French and All their beef and burgers , pork etc is French . Even the fresh and chilled chicken is French/ EU.
Stuff like chicken nuggets / ready meals we don't buy so can't comment as never looked.
