Worthwhile or a waste of diesel

Has really transformed our summer horse paddocks that suffer heavily from shallow surface compaction. Like every job in the right conditions it can really help but more often than not like harrowing and rolling grass it’s a waste of time for the cost and time it takes, just doesn’t leave smart stripes up and down the field like they do!

That's interesting I have a Ritchie aerator I don't feel it's aggressive enough for our heavy land wondering if a subsoiler is worth it. Had opico subsoiler it left the land so uneven I sold it again what's tffs opinion

If you like the thought of what the Ritchie is supposed to do, but need something more heavy duty, try an Aerway. Cracking bit of kit.

Believe me when you lift it you're glad of the tractor

Why is the aerator so far back from the tractor linkage ? no wonder it takes a lot of lifting

It's a foldable one that opens out to 4 metres

I see, the ones I have seen fold up at the sides not round the back.
We have a little 2.5 m one that the MF35 will handle

It's the 4 drums full of water to penetrate our stoney ground that makes it a bit heavy when lifted, they fold forward in the middle.
