Would a bale spike tip over a round bale.

yes a double bale spike on the rear can tip over a bale, as long as you can set off the bale where you need it tipped then get the spikes under the bale a little the lift and reverse at the same time
Thanks that's what I needed to know.

Stick the tips of the spike in the side of the bale and move it away from the stack. Withdraw spikes and then lower as far as you can to the ground before approachable and lifting and reversing should end up with the bale on its round side.

Flipped 100s on there end with the back spike just lift up while reversing

Fine as long as no sheep stick there heads under while your doing it

Reverse and aim for the side of the bale with a bit of power, lift up and drive off. Cut round bottom of bale and pull the flap forward and up and fold over the lower links, cut up the side and over the top and peel off and tuck in (do this when you get to the field gate, don't slice the net though) drop near feeder and flip the feeder over it.
Stacking them on their ends only matters if the bales are soft and going to compress. It keeps the overlaps of film closed better.

It can be a bit of a bugger to get the bale off sometimes..
