Would you drill gleam wheat this week?

Was just about to say the same, seed rate seems very low. We’ve been drilling last week around the 240kg/ha (vr). Usually the lowest we ever go on winter wheat would be 160kg/ha with ideal conditions in September.

I thought gleam was a mid feb cut off date? I’ve got a bit to put in if it dries enough tomorrow/Thursday. I’m not bothered to much by a week or two of these cut off dates.
Plan to drill, gleam, kinetic and skyscraper in same field for next years seed.

Gleam has Hereford (x KWS Kielder) in its parentage, Hereford has Deben in its parentage, Deben has Wasp in its parentage and so does Claire which has a relatively low vernalisation requirement. If (and it's a big if) Claire gets any of that trait from Wasp, Gleam might also have a lower vernalisation requirement. But looking across the flow chart below Maris Widgeon is in the Flame parentage, so the low vernalisation requirement in Claire could likely have come from its other genetics.

Hereford is a low take-all inoculum builder, so hopefully Gleam has inherited that characteristic as well.

There's also Maris Widgeon in the Hunter parentage of Deben, albeit a very long way back!
