Local show are looking for a new home again. mixture of all sorts of animals, including fur and feather. Ignoring at the moment problems with Covid which could negate the question anyway

So as above would you?
One of our fields have been suggested too.

I couldn't really be bothered with them to be honest.

Depends what you want to give to the community or how much are they paying. June is best if the field can be cut as E Coli is a risk and there has to be no animals on for 3 weeks before.

Local show near us had actually cancelled this year's show, before all the covid restrictions, as the owner of the field needed the fields. He couldn't not use the field for the required 6wks for the animal gatherings licence. That show is mid September so didn't really fit with silage timings. Not sure what is happening going forward.

Wow! 6 weeks quarantine prior to a show. I guess that is why so may are after hay or silage.

Mind, I know of one we attended last year, that had not long had sheep on it, and coos in the car parks...

We used to be in a rotation of farms hosting a local show, but now it's held in the grounds of a local agricultural college. Given that this was a specialist show focussing on machinery, I would estimate that 90% or more of the visitors were actively involved in agriculture in one way or another.

It was disgusting how much litter we ended up with - there were more than enough bins spread around the site. It was very disappointing that people didn't have more respect. If I can find the photos I'll post a couple.

Some shows get around it by just licencing the area that the cattle and sheep are penned on.
Derbyshire County Show was cancelled last year due to a neighbouring farmers sheep getting onto the show field within the quarantine period.

Our local show is on one of our fields in mid-August every year. It has been held there for donkey’s years before we arrived (2012) and have been happy enough to let it continue. I do wish it was appreciated more by some in the town, as it effectively halves the fields production through compaction every year, but it’s just taken for granted by most, as well as them seeing it as public property and a dog latrine.😡
No livestock there these days, so easy enough to exclude livestock for a while beforehand, and I can juggle a 9ac field as needs be.
They did expand into the adjoining field for a bolt-on horse show in the year before we arrived, but I certainly wasn’t going to let that take root!

Would I offer a field for a show to start up.... probably not, unless it was strictly as a one off.

I let a field go for some sheep dog trials once . It's quite simple I was told ...we will come the day before and mark out the course and be back the following day to clear up ......
A week before a hundred and twenty sheep turned up , next day a load of big square bales at each end of field to make holding pen and receiving pen . Day before course was all set up . It was a good day ....but sheep didn't go till 2 days after, the course was dismantled the same day the sheep went and the straw bales went gradually over a week .
No-one bothered to pick up the litter !
Never again !!
