Yes, and what's the problem, it's a food product but also a sentient creature that we as farmers are responsible for it's welfare and protection.

Headage payments devalued that as they just became a number, farmers turned their back on rearing quality stock, it was more profitable to pack them in the smaller the better

No it was what the consumer wanted, fat was bad so all you ended up with is the tasteless stuff we have today. We used to run a grass fed suckler herd of herefords but got penalised for them being to fat at killing time but by god it was the tastiest beef I've ever had.

I still don't see wether I have kept cows for 40 years has got anything to do with your ridiculous claims
How do you know they are ridiculous if you never kept cows or sheep for that matter, I know very little about EEC Arable policy so would not comment although I do rememberer the vast amount of Set Aside spreading weeds over my land

I ran a poll on here about a month ago. Only got something like 41 votes, think it was something like 37 No, and 4 Yes.

Not exactly scientific to say the least, but I'd guess that the answer in the country would be overwhelmingly a resounding No.

It was said by someone that the vote would depend on our state of affairs and how could you know what they were because we had been in the EU for so long, which is fair comment. Although to me, we haven't actually been in the EU, we've been in a free trade area for most of that time, which has been/is morphing into a single state, or is trying to. That's why I would vote No almost regardless of any other consideration.

From whom? I'm for out, so I'd be glad if you voted that way; but this is democracy in action, so why should anybody have a go at you either way?

Tongue in cheek really, I don't care what people think on how I voted.

I like the Europeans, I like going there, I like things made in Germany, I like not getting charged vat and import tax on parcels from Europe, I like not having to go in the non EU queue at border control, but I voted out.

I don't like the way it is run basically and its only going to get worse.

Maybe I'm a fool, but hell I'm not letting this chance for change go.
