Wrapped bales in fields - Keeping Sheep Away

I used to leave the wrapped bales out in the fields loose for the winter, no issues with the sheep. However this year they have started ripping the plastic. Any ideas to keep them away apart from putting up a fence?

Pick the bales up and carry and stack them. Can’t understand people leaving them lie and then having a dead spot of grass that the weeds invade when it finally grows back.

I reeseed with grass seeds when eaten. The ground where they go is very wet, easier to move the feeder so less poaching
