Firefighters have released a picture of the scene of a crash which led to a busy road being closed for more than three hours.
The A390 between Callington and Liskeard was closed in both directions after a cattle trailer overturned shortly before 10am.
A man in his 60s, who was driving the vehicle towing the trailer, was initially trapped.
Police say he was taken to hospital with what were thought to be minor injuries , and has since been discharged.
The four cows that were inside the trailer escaped following the crash.
The road, which was closed in both directions, was re-opened at lunchtime.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said that as of 1pm, the cows remained at large.

“One driver was trapped in the vehicle pulling a cattle trailer which was on its side," the spokesperson said.
“He has since been freed and taken to Derriford hospital but his injuries are not thought to be serious.
“Four cows were in the trailer, all have escaped and yet to have been located.

It’s the exit off the roundabout. So does match up. Muck comes from a slaughterhouse which is why the cover will be on.
